 Pope Shenouda III Let us also be fervent during these sacred days. If we are unable to fast the days in abstinence as did the Lord Jesus Christ, glory be to Him then at least let us try to be as serious and as pious as we can and to the limit of our endurance. If we cannot reproach and forcefully defeat the Devil as did the Lord, at least let us be ready to resist him. Let us remember what the Apostle Saint Paul said in criticism to the Hebrews: “You have not yet resisted to bloodshed, striving against sin.” (Heb 12:4).
