But one thing is needed

He who hates with his heart his sins and enlightened by the Grace of the Holy Spirit desires now to serve our common King, the first thing he must do is this. To think carefully and understand that this new situation and study, which he wants to undertake, is the most valuable work, the most wonderful wisdom, the greatest and most beneficial good of all that exists in the world. And to put it better, there is no other good or any other work that is really true, and this is exactly what the Lord meant when He said to Martha: “but one thing is needed (Luke 10:42)”.
