 Pope Shenouda III Jesus is the Creator With Respect to Him Being the Creator Without controversy, God is the Creator, and the story of creation commences with the statement "in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth" (Gen. 1:1). The first chapter of Genesis explains how God created all things. In the book of Isaiah, God says "I am the Lord, who makes all things, who stretches out heavens all alone, who spreads abroad the earth by Myself" (Is. 44:24), and "I, the Lord, do all these things" (Is. 45:7)
