He forgave the paralytic his sins and said to him plainly: "Your sins are forgiven you" (Matt. 9:2); (Mk. 2:5); (Lk. 5:20). When some of the scribes reasoned in their hearts, saying: "Why does this Man speak blasphemies like this? Who can forgive sins but God alone?" (Mk. 2:7), the Lord said to them: "'Why do you think evil in your hearts?.. But that you may know that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins' then He said to the paralytic, 'Arise, take up your bed, and go to your house' " (Matt. 9:4,6); (Mk. 2:7-10).
