 Pope Shenouda III Baptism, with all its spiritual efficacies, is also dependent on this belief because it can never be carried out without belief first. That was why, when the Ethiopian eunuch requested Philip to baptize him, Philip replied: "If you believe with all your heart, you may." Then the eunuch replied: "I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God" (Acts 8:37).
