The angels used the title 'Lord' in referring to the Lord Jesus Christ, whether in declaring His birth or His resurrection. At His birth the angel said to the shepherds: "Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Saviour, who is Christ the Lord' (Lk. 2:10,11). On the day of the Lord Jesus Christ's resurrection, the angel said to the women: "You seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here, for He is risen' as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay" (Matt. 28:5,6). Here we see the angel's testimony that Christ is the Lord.
