Do you know why the icon of the crucifix is placed in the middle on Good Friday? The church gathers all her thoughts and attention into the cross of our Savior through whom was the salvation of all mankind. It was it which the bronze serpent that Moses lifted up in the wilderness symbolized (John3:14). “Before your very eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed as crucified.” (Galatians 3:1)
