God Wants A Perfect Heart not a Perfect Home

I can’t help thinking how much I regret the many years I spent focused on the wrong thing. I often found myself worrying about so many things.. our rules, standards, doctrine, denomination, world view.. yes.. all important..but not most important.

What my children needed was not a perfect curriculum or perfect environment. They needed a mother who loved God with a perfect devotion and a perfect heart.

My energy should have been spent loving Jesus and seeking the Lord with all my heart.. not trying to find the perfect church or protect my children perfectly.

Yes standards matter.. protecting our children matters… just not as much as our we love the Lord and how we treat our family.

We don’t need the perfect church or curriculum, healthy food, perfect denomination..doctrinal poition or situation or sermon or pastor.. we need a perfect heart.

Reminded to put my energy in the right place. How different my family’s life could have been if I had sought the Lord with all my heart.. and focused on transformation.. instead I got caught up in the doctrines of men..

and my heart was far from the Lord.. though my lips said all the right things.

Praying to be devoted to the right person and not the right cause today. Seeking the Lord and knowing the Lord will direct our paths
