Beloveds: the work is great for the palace is not for man, but for the Lord God..
This is what David said, when he was busy building the house of the Lord…
And today we are taking steps heading toward building a great house for the Lord in Lebanon, house not made by stones like in the old testament, but we are working to lift up the name of Jesus Christ in this country, to extend the kingdom of God in our country, and to tear down the works of Satan in this country, we are working to fulfill the vision that the Lord gave us, we are working to see the promises and prophecies, that the Lord gave us, coming true… we are working to captive souls from the kingdom of darkness into the Kingdom of light…
In front of all this..
What kind of people should we be?
And how should we work?

and the work is great, because the temple is not for man but for the LORD God.. So let us see what David did:
“ Furthermore King David said to all the assembly: My son Solomon, whom alone God has chosen , is young and inexperienced; and the work is great, because the temple is not for man but for the LORD God . Now for the house of my God I have prepared with all my might: gold for things to be made of gold, silver for things of silver, bronze for things of bronze, iron for things of iron, wood for things of wood, onyx stones, stones to be set, glistening stones of various colors, all kinds of precious stones, and marble slabs in abundance. Moreover, because I have set my affection on the house of my God, I have given to the house of my God, over and above all that I have prepared for the holy house, my own special treasure of gold and silver: three thousand talents of gold, of the gold of Ophir, and seven thousand talents of refined silver, to overlay the walls of the houses… Who then is willing to consecrate himself this day to the LORD? Then the leaders of the fathers’ houses, leaders of the tribes of Israel, the captains of thousands and of hundreds, with the officers over the king’s work, offered willingly. They gave for the work of the house of God five thousand talents and ten thousand darics of gold, ten thousand talents of silver, eighteen thousand talents of bronze, and one hundred thousand talents of iron. And whoever had precious stones gave them to the treasury of the house of the LORD, into the hand of Jehiel the Gershonite. Then the people rejoiced, for they had offered willingly, because with a loyal heart they had offered willingly to the LORD; and King David also rejoiced greatly. therefore David blessed the LORD before all the assembly; and David said:

“ Blessed are You, LORD God of Israel, our Father, forever and ever. Yours, O LORD, is the greatness, The power and the glory, The victory and the majesty; For all that is in heaven and in earth is Yours; Yours is the kingdom, O LORD, And You are exalted as head over all. Both riches and honor come from You, And You reign over all. In Your hand is power and might; In Your hand it is to make great And to give strength to all. Now therefore, our God, We thank You And praise Your glorious name. But who am I, and who are my people, That we should be able to offer so willingly as this? For all things come from You, And of Your own we have given You. For we are aliens and pilgrims before You, As were all our fathers; Our days on earth are as a shadow, And without hope. O LORD our God, all this abundance that we have prepared to build You a house for Your holy name is from Your hand, and is all Your own. I know also, my God, that You test the heart and have pleasure in uprightness. As for me, in the uprightness of my heart I have willingly offered all these things; and now with joy I have seen Your people, who are present here to offer willingly to You. O LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, our fathers, keep this forever in the intent of the thoughts of the heart of Your people, and fix their heart toward You “ (1Chronicles 29: 1 – 18).
This is not a long passage.. nor boring details.. because the Bible is the Word of God, written by the Holy Spirit not by men.. and the Holy Spirit does not give boring details, He has a special purpose for everything He writes.. the heart of the Lord was rejoicing.. when He saw David and his people giving money to build the palace of the Lord.. giving generously and in joy.. for this reason God intended to mention the details, the volume of the offerings from gold, silver, precious stones and iron…etc.
We are all like Solomon small comparing to such a great work.. to win a country for the Lord.. to fulfill our vision completely, specially when Satan starts to resist..
But.. are we going to do this work counting on ourselves? Of course not..
So let’s meditate on what David did..
David said very important words in this passage:
1 - I have prepared with all my might for the house of my God..
He did his role.. with all his might he prepared to build that palace.. he didn’t work halfhearted.. he wasn’t lazy.. he did the work with effort and courage, this is what we should learn from David.. to work with all our might not halfhearted, to give God’s work the absolute priority in our life.. God’s word says:
“ cursed is he who does the work of the Lord deceitfully…” (Jeremiah 48: 10)

“ whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might…” (Ecclesiastes 9: 10)
I am not trying to burden or judge anyone, I just want to encourage you, and exhort you to do the work of God with all your might, and not deceitfully..

2 - Moreover, because I have set my affection on the house of my God, I have given to the house of my God, over and above all that I have prepared for the holy house, my own special treasure… Then the people rejoiced, for they had offered willingly, because with a loyal heart they had offered willingly to the LORD; and King David also rejoiced greatly.

How expressive are these words that David said, how precious they are, he didn’t feel obliged to do God’s work, he didn’t feel pressured to fulfill the task, he was happy to serve the Lord, more than this.. because he have set his affection.. he wasn’t satisfied of what he collected and prepared.. But over and above all that he have prepared for the holy house, his own special treasure..
we might have put time, money, sacrifices, effort and sleepless nights into God’s work, and this is all good in God’s eyes.. But here we see more than this.. we see David for his love to the Lord, for his great joy in the palace of his God, gave from his own money, from his time of rest, from things that might seem normal if kept for ourselves, but not by obligation, and out of an extraordinary love that filled his heart toward his God.. he sacrificed much.. such a heart.. and such a purpose.. are so precious in God’s eyes, and no obstacle shall stand against them no matter how great it is. This is how we should serve a God who never kept anything from us, but gave us the most expensive He had.. and we notice that not only David did this, but all the people rejoiced in what they gave, because they too gave with a complete heart.. so let us learn from them beloved…

3 - But who am I, and who are my people, That we should be able to offer so willingly as this? For all things come from You, And of Your own we have given You… O LORD our God, all this abundance that we have prepared to build You a house for Your holy name is from Your hand, and is all Your own.

The work is great and big as we said.. indeed it is…
But.. Despite all they did and gave to the Lord from money, time, efforts, and hard work.. They were humble, knowing it is not their own power, and that what they gave wasn’t theirs.. that’s why David said:
They didn’t consider what they had of riches and properties as their own, they consider it the Lord’s, and they took it from the Lord’s generous and giving hand, that’s why they considered themselves giving back to the Lord what He already gave them.. they gave everything with joy without being afraid of not having anything to live by..
When will we be like them?
When will we consider our properties and riches as from the Lord’s hand, His own and we are only stewards for it, to give back from it to Him and His work with joy and generosity without being concerned about the demands of life, trusting that whom we are honoring is worthy, and able to fill our needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus?

4 - I know also, my God, that You test the heart and have pleasure in uprightness. As for me, in the uprightness of my heart I have willingly offered all these things; and now with joy I have seen Your people, who are present here to offer willingly to You. O LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, our fathers, keep this forever in the intent of the thoughts of the heart of Your people, and fix their heart toward You.

David knew that the Lord rejoices with the upright heart, and with the heart that is completely His, that is why he asked Him to make this desire alive in the people’s hearts for ever, and asked Him to protect their hearts so they might be faithful to Him.. Yes beloveds, when we work to God from all our hearts, when we give Him all that we have with great joy and not by obligation, when we humble ourselves before Him knowing deeply in our hearts, that it is not by our might that we do the work, and not from our potentials that we give Him, but from what He gave us, and we walk before Him uprightly, the work will prosper and He will fulfill the promises, and make His kingdom expend in our country, and He will help us smash our enemies heads, and win the battles, He will keep these pure desires in our hearts for ever, and He will make our hearts faithful to Him for ever and ever..
And then came the psalm 132, to give David favor to what he’s done, it says:
“ LORD, remember David And all his afflictions ; How he swore to the LORD, And vowed to the Mighty One of Jacob: Surely I will not go into the chamber of my house, Or go up to the comfort of my bed; I will not give sleep to my eyes Or slumber to my eyelids, Until I find a place for the LORD, A dwelling place for the Mighty One of Jacob " (Psalm 132 : 1 – 5).
This is the oath David made to the Lord.. he refused to enter the tabernacle of his house, to go up into his bed, to give sleep to his eyes, or slumber to his eyelids until he builds a house to his God.. Do you still wonder why the Lord said in many places in His word: David is after my own heart?
These are the people who succeed in building the kingdom of God in their countries.. in winning souls to the Lord.. in conquering new lands.. in healing the sick and delivering the captives.. in bringing peace to their countries.. and.. and.. and.. People like the psalm 84 say:
“ … in whose heart are the ways of them “ (Psalm 84 : 5).

The ways of the Lord’s house are in their hearts.. the Lord is their only treasure.. like Paul the apostle said, everything else is rubbish!!!
Naomi sent her daughter in law Ruth to a man called Boaz, she asked her to sleep at his feet at night according to the traditions of their times, so he marries her after her husband’s death for he was a family member to her. She did as her mother in law told her, and went back to tell her, and Naomi said to her:
“ … Sit still, my daughter, until thou know how the matter will fall: for the man will not be in rest, until he have finished the thing this day “.
(Ruth 3 : 18).
She knew who Boaz was, she knew that he is the man of God like David was, she knew he will not rest.. Nor sleep, nor go up into his bed, nor give sleep to his eyes, until he fulfills all God’s work..
This is the kind of people the Lord is searching for today, to win countries through them, to win souls, to save people from Satan’s dominion, and take them into the kingdom of the Son of His love..
And God said at the end:
“ have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem , which shall never hold their peace day nor night: ye that make mention of the LORD, keep not silence , And give Him no rest, till he establish, and till He make Jerusalem a praise in the earth “ (Isaiah 62 : 6 – 7).
So people of God in Jesus Savior’s church, people of God in Lebanon..
Work with all your power.. and out of great joy in your God’s house and work, give Him the expensive and the precious, do not rest until you finish your task, do not go into the tabernacle of your house, do not go up into your beds, do not give sleep to your eyes, or slumber to you eyelids, do not be silent and don’t let the Lord be silent, until He strengthens the foundation of His church and Kingdom in Lebanon, until He strengthens the groundwork of Lebanon, the establishment of peace in Lebanon ..
Because He can not stand still in front of such purposes and in front of such people.. So when shall we do this?
