Pope Shenouda III A fast with a wrong aim is unacceptable. An example of this fast were the Jews who banded together “and bound themselves under an oath, saying that they would neither eat nor drink till they had killed Paul. Now there were more than forty who had formed this conspiracy” (Acts 23:12,13). Naturally, their fast was a sin. Moreover, we cannot call it a spiritual fast. |
