القديس إيريناوءس

الصليب والخلاص (السوتيريولوجى)

وفى مجال المشابهة بين آدم والمسيح نجد القديس ايريناؤس يتكلم عن الاقتداء بالمسيح، عندما يوهب الإنسان مشابهة الله ومثاله، فيقول:
"حينما صار الكلمة إنسانا وشابه الإنسان، جعل الإنسان يشابهه، وبصيرورة الإنسان على شبه الإبن صار عزيزا في عينى الآب".
ويبين لنا ايريناؤس الليونى ان تعاليم السيد المسيح ومثال المسيح لا يمكن ان ينفصلا عن عمل الصليب، لأنه فقط بتجميع المسيح في نفسه كل مرحلة من عمر الإنسان اكمل المسيح الخلاص، بل هنال على خشبة الصليب (شجرة الطاعة) أباد المسيح الموت الذي سببته خشبة العصيان .
والوعد للمرأة الأولى بأنها ستسحق رأس الحية، يشرح المعركة بين المسيح والشيطان والتي حدثت على الصليب، وإن كان الشيطان قد غلب في المعركة ظاهريا وإلى حين، لكن المسيح إنتصر بعد ذلك إلى الأبد، وكان لابد أن رئيس البشرية نفسه يصير إنسانا لكى يستجمع في نفسه الحرب الدائرة بيننا وبين عدو جنسنا وليدخل المعركة مع قاهر آدم فيقهره، مقدما الإنتصار على الموت الة الذين كانوا في آدم أسرى الموت والشيطان.

القديس إيريناوءس

فنسل المرأة هو المسيح الغالب الذي سحق رأس الحية وأباد آخر عدو الذي هو الموت وأطلق سراح آدم لأن خلاص المسيح هو إبادة الموت.
فالمسيح بواسطة آلامه اباد الموت والخطية، والفساد والجهل، وألبس المؤمنين عدم الفساد، ويقول القديس ايريناؤس:
"المسيح حارب وغلب، لأنه إنسان خاض المعركة عن الأباء، وبطاعته ألغى العصيان تماما، لأنه ربط القوى وحرر الضعيف، وبإبادته للخطية ألبس خليقته الخلاص".
ويضيف القديس ايريناؤس أن: "نزول المسيح إلى عالم الاموات (الجحيم) كان فيه أيضًا تحرير آباء العهد القديم".
