The Basin

The Basin In the middle of the church there is a Basin let into the floor, which is used to remember the example of Christ washing the feet of the disciples. The actions of our Lord exemplified simple humility and the need for purity of heart and a humble yet spiritual relationship with God if we want to teach the word of God. The Coptic Orthodox Church uses this basin three times a year on Covenant Thursday, the Feast of the Epiphany and the Feast of the Apostles.
