Unemployment in Spain Reaches 5.9 Million in The First Quarter of 2014

According to the latest figures from the National Institute of Statistics (INE) the number of unemployed decreased by 2,300 people in the first quarter of the year, until 5,933,300, while the unemployment rate closed at 25.93% of the active population.
The number of homes with all members out of work increased this year by a total of 53,100, reaching a total of 1,978,900, an increase of 2.75% over the fourth quarter in 2013.
The number of self employed workers has decreased by 20,300 in the first trimester.
