 Pope Shenouda III The angels used the title 'Lord' in referring to the Lord Jesus Christ, whether in declaring His birth or His resurrection. At His birth the angel said to the shepherds: "Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Saviour, who is Christ the Lord' (Lk. 2:10,11). On the day of the Lord Jesus Christ's resurrection, the angel said to the women: "You seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here, for He is risen' as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay" (Matt. 28:5,6). Here we see the angel's testimony that Christ is the Lord.
