 Pope Shenouda III The Lord Jesus Christ was also called 'the Lord our Righteousness'. In the prophecy of Jeremiah the prophet, it is written: " 'Behold, the days are coming,' says the Lord, 'that I will raise to David a Branch of righteousness; a King shall reign and prosper, and execute judgment and righteousness in the earth... Now this is His name by which He will be called THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS" (Jer. 23:5,6). This prophecy has been fulfilled in the Lord Jesus Christ because He became our righteousness after granting us righteousness through His blood.
