Similarly, we say that we do not worship the pictures or the icons, but we venerate them, thus venerating those to whom they belong, according to the Lord's words to His disciples: “If anyone serves Me, him MY Father will honour” (John.12: 26). If the Father venerates His saints, should we not venerate them?
